Food Special

This month the O.J.A.I. has to resort to food in musical form due to self-imposed dietary restrictions. So, for our April food show we put together a playlist with music and some archive material related to eating and purchasing food. Starting in a supermarket we put together an imaginary audible six-course meal including meat, fish, veg, cheese, cake and fruit. And not to forget vegetarians, cannibals and insects.

Easter Monday 19.00 (18.00 local time) at Dublin Digital Radio and Mon, April 17 on Cashmere Radio Berlin at 20.00

Gabi Remembrance Special

O.J.A.I.’s march broadcast marks the third anniversary of Gabi Delgado’s death in 2020. In his role as a O.J.A.I. Retroactive Member we remember him for his pioneering musical experimentation and subversion and criticality in a musical context. The retrospective includes the history of his band DAF he co-founded, some ultra-fandom contributions as well as recollections of personal encounters by Merle Vorwald, Alex Pfeiffenberger and Padraic E.Moore.

Mon, March 14 at Dublin Digital Radio and Mo, March 20 in Cashmere Radio Berlin.

The Seduction of the Bureaucrat

Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence is delighted to invite you to a group exhibition and series of public conversations about the relationship between art and bureaucracy- a curatorial initiative of Pieter Vermeulen. The artist and the civil servant are far apart, each in their own biotope: the studio and the office. Creativity generally does not conform to forms, procedures and protocols. Yet artists inevitably come into contact with bureaucracy. How do they look at it and how do they deal with it in their work? Do kafkaesque situations still play out in shadowy backrooms and dusty archives, or does today’s office space look different? What role does digital infrastructure play? What does Bartleby’s famous words “I would prefer not to” mean within a contemporary work ethic of quiet quitting, boredom and burn-out? Does creativity still make sense in a country where even bookkeeping is creative? Is it up to the artist to seduce the bureaucrat, or is it difficult for the bureaucrat to resist the bureaucratic temptation?

With Apparatus 22, Jan Banning, Deborah Bowmann, AA Bronson, Tiago Duarte, Anna Bella Geiger, Sarah Hendrickx, LAb[au], Ariane Loze, Wesley Meuris, Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (Chris Dreier and Gary Farrelly), Vijai Patchineelam, Lieven Segers, Pilvi Takala, Axel van der Kraan, Herman Van Ingelgem, Philippe Van Wolputte and Vermeir & Heiremans.
